According to the event planners, the LA convention center will host 20 world premieres and more than 30 North American debuts.

George Clooneys Electric Car Twice The Torque Of A Dodge Viper

This is George Clooneys Electric Car Twice The Torque Of A Dodge Viper. you can pack cruise ship levels of torque into something the size of a fat person in a poncho on a Vespa. The Tango T600 is made of carbon fibre, has a 200mph SCCA/NHRA rated roll cage, has twin electric motors that produce over 1,000ft-lbs of torque, it can beat a Tesla Roadster in a 1/4 mile drag race at 120mph and it has a top speed of 130mph.

Now there are some drawbacks, its pretty narrow which may be good for lane splitting and aerodynamic efficiency but its lousy for cornering. The car is also a little bit on the pricey side at 108,000 clams, although to be fair the company is working on a new, far less expensive model called the T200.

Theres a video below of the Tango T600 beating the Tesla Roadster in a drag race and the Tango clearly wins, its hard to mess up a drag race in an electric car as there is no gear shifting, you just hit the gas pedal and clench. The Tango has also resoundingly beaten Shelby Cobras and Corvettes on the 1/4 mile black top. This could be the ultimate sleeper car really, it looks like a Smart Car but it can embarrass a toupee wearing Ferrari driver at the lights. Sounds like a bucket of fun.

Next Mazda next-gen engines named SkyActiv

next Mazda next-gen engines named  SkyActiv
New Mazda has officially unveiled the name for its new generation of improved efficiency technologies SkyActiv. The new moniker encompasses the previously-named SKY series of engines and transmissions, as well as bodyshells and platforms that will be launched in 2011 with the promise of making major reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The programme will initially concentrate on lightweight construction as a core value of the brand, along with the optimisation of conventional powertrain technologies. As it goes along, efficiency improving technologies, such as regenerative brake systems and hybrid power systems, will be successively introduced. The goal of the company is to lower the fuel consumption of its global fleet by 30% by 2015.

Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback 2.4 Specification

Recently Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia unveiled the new Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback, and the hatchbacks arrival expands the the Lancer range in the country to two model and three variant types, the GT and EX sedans being the others.

The fully-imported, five-door C-segment offering, which Danny Tan reviewed in Japan, is available only in 2.4 litre form here, and the 4B12 four-cylinder pot also worn by likes of the Outlander puts out 168 hp at 6,000rpm and 226Nm of torque at 4,100rpm. The block is mated an Invecs-III CVT box with a six-speed manual mode.

The main draw with this 1,415 kg creature, besides its sporty outlook, is in its cargo space while no van, the 60:40 one-touch folding rear seats get to about 10-degrees from completely flat, and in a seat-stored position you get a cargo space thats 1,570mm deep and 1,395mm wide, which is pretty decent. In base form the boot is good for 345 litres of space.

IDECORE's Alfa Romeo Monza V8 Concept

This is IDECORE's (an acronym for "ideas, concepts, relationships") Alfa Romeo Monza V8,a new digital concept in honor of the Italian firm's centennial celebration. IDECORE, which bills itself as "independent designers and modelers", sees this model as an Executive Sport 2+2 with a next-gen Multiair V8 driving the rear wheels.IDECORE's Alfa Romeo Monza V8 Concept

The car would measure 4.8 meters long, similar to BMW's current 6-Series. From the looks of it, this could also provide Alfa with a regular-production flagship coupe in place of its beautiful and very limited halo car, the 8C Competizione.

While Alfa has been reinventing itself lately with attractive small cars targeting younger buyers, a slick full-size coupe could very well be in the pipeline, especially since Alfa is rumored to be using Chrysler's large RWD platform for its long-delayed 169 sedan.

Since Alfa Romeo hopes to one day make a return to the US market as a BMW competitor, a car like this is something that can't be ruled out. Vent and rave in the comments below.
